The Tulsa Drillers

Tulsans love their Drillers, and there are many reasons why. The Tulsa Drillers Professional Baseball Club is the oldest (since 1977) professional sports franchise in Tulsa. The Drillers are the Double A Affiliate of the American League's Texas Rangers. In 1994, the Drillers attracted a season attendance total of 344,764 fans -- an average of 5,472 per game. This was the highest total in the history of professional baseball in Tulsa. This was the fifth consecutive year that the Drillers have set an all-time attendance record. In 1993, a new bermuda grass playing field was installed at Drillers Stadium. In both 1993 and 1994, Drillers Stadium has been voted the best playing surface by the Texas League's players and coaches. Drillers Stadium continues to be one of the largest stadiums in all Double A baseball with a seating capacity of 10,778. On the occasion that capacity is full, the Drillers fans have been allowed to sit on the warning track. This allows for great fun for Drillers fans, as well as an extra challenge for the players. A Tulsa Drillers game is great fun for the whole family. Come and enjoy the Tulsa summer nights, eat a hot dog, and who knows, you might even catch a foul ball!
